Chief Financial Officer

We have maintained 20+% annual growth rates for the past 5 years and are seeking a Chief Financial Officer with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our rapidly expanding company. The ideal candidate must have deep financial experience, proven leadership skills, and experience in high-growth businesses. 


About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the integrity of the company’s financial and budgetary controls and reporting systems. This critical role will oversee the functions of controllership, financial reporting, treasury, financial planning, forecasting, contract management and administration, and analysis functions, and will ensure adequate financial flexibility to execute the company’s operating and strategic plans, and for informing executive decision-making across the business.

The CFO will be part of the executive leadership team, will report directly to the CEO, and will often interface with the company’s board of directors. A key dependency will be a strong ability to collaborate with the executive leadership team on business and product needs, budgeting, planning, forecasting, and strategy to meet the company’s financial goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • • Ensure a strong financial structure is in place to support the business and its key objectives by providing leadership, strategic thinking, deal execution, and the ability to identify areas of improvement
  • • Provide financial oversight and analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends to enhance business performance in sales and overall company profitability
  • • Influence and support each of the company’s revenue producing units to execute on their individual business plans and achieve revenue and profitability targets
  • • Manage a team of individuals including an Accounting Manager/financial analyst, a transaction processing role (AP, AR and collections) and a part time lawyer 
  • • Direct and participate in the monthly close process, ensuring the company's books are closed within required reporting timelines
  • • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
  • • Document and improve company business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • • Provide leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives
  • • Operate as main point of contact with LinkUp’s bank on both operational banking needs and debt needs
  • • Oversight of the payroll process, health insurance administration, and annual audit process
  • • Hands-on responsibility for technical accounting for areas such as equity, stock compensation expense, intangibles, purchase accounting, and impairment testing
  • • Manage end to end contract management process for client and vendor agreements, ensuring timely and accurate outcomes, and partnering with the business and with external legal counsel when needed
  • • Assist in board communications and participate actively in quarterly board meetings and monthly board calls
  • • Bring ideas to the table to create and implement best practices within the financial team and build a strong culture of financial health and growth


Skills and qualifications

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA and/or MBA a plus)   
  • • Minimum 7+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience with at least 3 years managing other professionals
  • • Knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting and reporting
  • • Previous experience in technology strongly preferred
  • • Experience with accounts receivable/collections, accounts payable, payroll, income taxes, cash management, health insurance, and insurance policies
  • • Deep experience with general ledger function and the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and analyses, balance sheet review, and variance analyses
  • • Ability to respond to, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines while maintaining the highest of standards of completeness and accuracy
  • • Supervisory/management experience with proven ability to grow and mentor a high performing team
  • • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with senior management
  • • Proven track record of driving organizational change and improving functions
  • • Ability to lead the automation of accounting functions as the company grows
  • • Demonstrated experience in raising outside capital is strongly preferred.
