Vice President of Sales

Due to 35% growth year-over-years since 2008, we are searching for a VP of Sales with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our rapidly expanding company. The ideal candidate must have proven leadership skills, experience in high-growth businesses, and an ability to inspire and drive growth with a winning strategy.  

About the role

The primary focus of the VP of Sales role is to grow revenue within our candidate sourcing business that delivers recruitment advertising and talent acquisition solutions for large employers in the U.S., Canada, and the UK. Ventured backed and a client base of thousands of Fortune 2000 companies, our candidate sourcing solutions allow employers to better target and optimize their recruitment advertising spend, improve candidate quality, and reduce costs.

The VP of Sales will be part of the executive leadership team and will be responsible for leading teams to exceed customer and sales objectives, championing the sales strategy, accelerating growth and customer experience, and building a team of exceptional sales talent. Additionally, a key dependency here will be to collaborate with the executive leadership team on business and product needs, budgeting, planning, and strategy to meet company revenue goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • -Plan, develop, and execute channel-specific strategic sales plans (in line with the corporate strategic plan) to drive customer development and retention.
  • -Lead and mentor the sales team through opportunity development, relationship acquisition, and market growth.
  • -Establish and manage sales tracking, attainment of sales goals and reporting of sales goals and results.
  • -Evaluate and facilitate changes to sales strategy, sales process, and workflow to deliver maximum sales and profit growth.
  • -Hire, teach, and develop sales talent and skills to ensure every customer opportunity is maximized.
  • -Create a high-performing, energized, and "fun at work" sales team culture, emphasizing reward and recognition.
  • -Implement structured, documented, scalable workflow processes and clear system steps to drive continuous improvement across all sales team functions.
  • -Set vision and strategy for the sales team; develop specific segment plans to ensure growth in all revenue streams.
  • -Plan and communicate changes in product, processes, policies and/or procedures in a clear, concise and expedient manner throughout the sales organization.
  • -Develop and maintain a business plan and budget for the sales department.
  • -Collaborate closely with the product team, client success, marketing, and senior leadership to deliver on company goals.

Skills and qualifications:

  • -Bachelor degree in related discipline required
  • -At least 6-10 years of B2B sales experience (preferably within digital advertising or paid search).
  • -At least 5 years of experience in a sales management role with proven ability in managing and building successful sales teams.
  • -Direct experience of building a sales organization in a small business environment
  • -Experience managing a sales team of inside and outside Sales Executives
  • -Ability to perform successfully within a fast-paced, results-driven, dynamic and highly collaborative and changing work environment
  • -A team player with proven ability to listen, extrapolate information and leverage resources to effectively provide solutions to meet client/prospect needs.
  • -Solid understanding of budgeting spend and identifying meaningful KPIs.
  • -Proficiency with Salesforce.com or other CRM systems is a must.
